The Three Stars
Jérémy Grégoire continues to be a major story in the Quebec Major Junior ranks this season, as he continues to impress with what is arguably a completely unsuspected offensive explosion with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar. After a rather unremarkable 62 points combined in his first two QMJHL seasons, his offensive outburst to begin the 2013-14 season threatens to eclipse his career scoring in the league before the end of his current season. He would begin this week's schedule marking two assists on Friday for Baie-Comeau in a rather crushing 7-1 defeat of Sherbrooke Phoenix. He would follow this effort up with three more assists in a 7-0 sweep of the Victoriaville Tigres on Saturday. He would pick up another assist on Sunday in a 5-1 victory over the Shawinigan Cataractes. Grégoire is currently enjoying on an 8-game points streak, scoring 7 goals and 7 assists over that time, he leads Baie-Comeau in scoring and is 2nd in the QMJHL in league scoring with 22 points. Jérémy Grégoire was drafted in the 6th round, 176th overall by the Montréal Canadiens in the 2013 NHL Draft.
Connor Crisp has been staying consistent with the Sudbury Wolves since being traded to them from the Erie Otters this season and gains special distinction this week. He would pick up an assist in a 3-2 loss to the Plymouth Whalers on Friday night, but would step up very favourably for Sudbury the following night. In a 6-5 victory for Sudbury over the Mississauga Steelheads, He would record a pair of goals in regulation before collecting an assist on the game-winning goal in overtime. With 13 points in 11 games, Crisp has doubled his points-per-game production over his previous season, up to 1.18PPG over .57PPG last season. Connor Crisp was drafted in the 3rd round, 71st overall by the Montréal Canadiens in the 2013 NHL Draft.
Charles Hudon found himself facing a rather busy schedule this past week but the Chicoutimi Saguenéens captain continues to be one of the most consistent sources of offence for his team. He would start off the week by scoring a goal and assist on Wednesday in a 6-4 victory over Rimouski Oceanic. He marked two assists on Friday but to a more unfortunate result in a 4-3 to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. Hudon went ointless as Chicoutimi found themselves shut out 3-0 nothing by the Charlottetown Islanders on Saturday. Hudon marked one more assist on Sunday as Chicoutimi closed out a 2-1 victory over the Saint John Sea Dogs. Charles Hudon was drafted in the 5th round, 122nd overall by the Montréal Canadiens in the 2012 NHL Draft.
