Catching the Torch: Nov. 4-Nov.10 Edition

The Three Stars

1. RW Martin Reway

After a bit of a slow start, Martin Reway has started to ramp up his offensive output with the Gatineau Olympiques, and this past week marked his finest production to date in the QMJHL. Reway began his week picking up an assist on Gatineau’s only goal in a 3-1 loss to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. He would mark a much more dramatic result for Gatineau for the next game, as he would score two goals and two assists to lead the Olympiques back from a 3-0 deficit versus the Charlottetown islanders for a 4-3 overtime victory. He would help lead Gatineau to a second straight win in the following game, scoring the game-winning goal, along with three assists to allow Gatineau to edge out a 5-4 victory over the Moncton Wildcats. His last two games represent the 2nd and 3rd 4-point games of Reway’s career in the QMJHL. Martin Reway was drafted in the 4th round, 116th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2013 NHL Draft.

2. LW Sven Andrighetto

One of the more pleasing impacts on the 2013-14 Hamilton Bulldogs roster, Sven Andrighetto has moved ahead of all of his fellow Bulldogs rookies to take the leading offensive role for the team to start the season. Andrighetto would begin his week recording a goal in what would become a 5-3 loss to the Rochester Americans, despite a late-game rally by the Bulldogs to attempt to tie the game. He would match his contributions in the following game, recording the only goal for Hamilton in a rather ugly 6-1 loss to the Grand Rapids Griffins. He would maintain his scoring ways once more, in a 3-1 loss to the Utica Comets, recording the team’s only goal. Andrighetto’s six goals and 10 points leads the Bulldogs roster in both goals and points over the season. Sven Andrighetto was drafted in the 3rd round, 86th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2013 NHL Draft.

3. RW Sebastian Collberg

Taking a break from the SHL, Sebastian Collberg has joined elements of his nation’s prospective roster for the upcoming World Junior Championships as they participate in an Under-20 Tournament featuring Sweden, Russia, Finland and the Czech Republic. After going pointless against the Czech Republic in a 3-1 victory for Sweden, Collberg would stand out, recording three assists as Sweden would take a 4-2 victory against Russia in the following game. Collberg would mark an assist in the following game, a 3-2 shootout loss to Finland. Collberg’s four assists made him the leading scorer for Team Sweden through three games. Sebastian Collberg was drafted in the 2nd round, 33rd overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2012 NHL Draft.
