The Three Stars

1. RW Patrick Holland

After a quiet start to his season, Patrick Holland has surged up the team scoring chart of the Hamilton Bulldogs in the past week. Holland would go without a point in the first game of a three games in three days schedule, a 4-1 loss to the Lake Erie Monsters. He would get on the scoresheet in a notable manner in the following game, setting up the game-winning goal to help the Bulldogs take a 2-1 victory over the Toronto Marlies. He would mark his first career 3-point game in his final game of the week as he would score a goal and two assists to help lead Hamilton to a 6-2 victory over the Lake Erie Monsters. Patrick Holland was drafted in the 7th round, 193rd overall by the Calgary Flames in the 2010 NHL Draft and was acquired by the Montreal Canadiens as part of a deal that sent Michael Cammalleri to Calgary.

2. LW Jacob De La Rose

While only 18 years old, Jacob De La Rose has established himself as a regular player with Leksands IF in the Swedish Hockey League and this past week made a notable impact on the scoresheet. After going without a point in his team’s first win, a 3-2 win over Luleå HF, he would directly figure into their next victories. In his next game, De La Rose would pick up a shorthanded goal and an assist against MODO Hockey in a 3-2 victory for Leksands. He would mark the eventual game-winning goal in the following game, another 3-2 win for Leksands as they would edge HV 71. De La Rose is currently sixth in team scoring with Leksands with five goals and five assists in 29 games, which is notable considering everyone ahead of him on Leksands is at least nine years older than he is. Jacob De La Rose was drafted in the 2nd round, 34th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2013 NHL Draft.

3. LW Charles Hudon

After a bit of a slow start this season, Charles Hudon‘s play has taken off of late with the Chicoutimi Saguenéens. Hudon would begin his week with a 3-point effort against the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, scoring two goals and an assist but unfortunately his efforts would fall just short in a 4-3 loss. He woud mark an assist in his following game, a 4-2 victory over the Drummondville Voltigeurs. He would finish the week with another three-point effort, scoring a goal and two assists in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Shawinigan Cataractes. Hudon currently leads Chicoutimi in scoring with 14 goals and 25 assists and is now 15th overall in the QMJHL in scoring. Charles Hudon was drafted in the 5th round, 122nd overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2012 NHL Draft.
