Carey Price unveils his first mask for the World Cup of Hockey

Carey Price is likely to be Team Canada’s starter at the World Cup of Hockey. Even the reigning Vezina trophy winning goaltender agrees that Price should take the #1 spot on the team.

Price, who is known to order a new mask for most big events, has revealed the first of the two masks he has ready for the tournament. It was designed by David Gunnarsson, and produced by CCM.

From the sides:

The mask is adorned with three Canadian flags, and highlighted with what looks like electricity or lightning come from the front of the mask. Truth be told, you’d be hard pressed to argue that Price isn’t electric, which makes it quite fitting. There’s also some subtle blue highlights on both sides, which could be a tip of the hat to his NHL team.

CCM will unveil the second mask in the next couple days, as well as his full goalie setup in the upcoming weeks.
