The Montreal Canadiens have wasted no time getting their star goaltender under contract, agreeing to terms on an eight-year deal with Carey Price.

Reports of an extension being done not long after the earliest possible date of July 1 had been circulating for a while, and the team waited until July 2 to get it done.
Price has one Vezina Trophy to his name, and finished third in voting last season. He also claimed the Hart Memorial Trophy as league MVP in 2014-15.
