Pre-game thoughts
WHY AM I CURSED BY THIS TEAM AND IT’S INJURIES, WHOM DID I SO DEEPLY OFFEND TO DESERVE THIS SEASON?

Anyways, the Rangers are resting two of their stars as they’re likely to be traded in short order so this game is lacking even more star power now. I don’t expect a lot out of this game in terms of entertainment so let’s hope I’m wrong
First Period
- I just looked at the Rangers line up, and realized that this might actually be one of the ugliest games of the year tonight.
- Noah Juulsen is in the starting lineup, and Victor Mete is playing with Jeff Petry, be still my heart.
- TRADE VALUE GOAL FOR TOMAS PLEKANEC
- Every time I hear how highly ranked the Habs power play is I do a double take and assume I’m being lied to.
- I’m not convinced that Pionk isn’t just the name of a Pokemon that also plays hockey for the Rangers.
- That Charles Hudon dangle and set up for a Noah Juulsen chance was all I’ve ever wanted in this world, shame it wasn’t a goal.
- Well, compared to other games that first twenty minutes wasn’t bad!/
Second Period
- Charles Hudon to Jeff Petry and I think I’ve fainted from seeing my favorites score such a pretty goal.
- And a power play? This isn’t even a subtle tank by the Rangers.
- I know it’s an extremely small sample, but I’m pretty sure Juulsen is the best defenceman in the NHL right now.
- I blinked and most of this period was over, somehow the Rangers decided to let Antti Niemi take a nap at his end of the ice, how nice of them!
- Top three D in terms of Corsi For% after 40 minutes? Victor Mete, Jeff Petry, and Noah Juulsen, not a bad showing for the young guys and Petry.
- Even Karl Alzner drew a penalty, everything is coming up in the Habs favor this game!/
Third Period
- Petry praises Juulsen for making a play up the middle as opposed to the boards, and Michel Therrien has just benched him in his own mind.
- OH MY WORD VICTOR METE WITH A GOAL LINE SAVE!
- Oh look at that, this period is half over and I barely noticed, which says a lot about the excitement level between these two teams.
- Antti Niemi flashes the leather now too, in case the Rangers weren’t feeling properly humiliated already.
- I didn’t realize you could get a tripping penalty while still holding onto the puck ¯_(ツ)_/¯
- A goal BOOOO
- NO GOAL YAY!
- Goal?
- BOOOOOO
- Noah Juulsen on the ice to defend a one goal lead is the most positive thing I’ve seen in weeks.
