Canadiens vs. Panthers Top Six Minutes: A series of unfortunate events

For our new readers and members, the Top Six Minutes is a continuation of the discussion in the game thread. We try to keep it light and entertaining. Full recaps are up the morning after every game.

First Period

  • Oh god those mustaches…please no more closeups
  • Out of the blender and on to the ice. The new lines look pretty weird.
  • What a shot Pacioretty!
  • A net related call…and it’s not Gallagher?
  • Byron is terrifying, the Panthers should be afraid.
  • Carey seemed rather emotive after letting in that second goal. He was not impressed./

Second Period

  • David Desharnais! This in no way changes my opinion of that line though.
  • That was an aggressive power play.
  • Galchenyuk can do incredible things with zero space.
  • Announcers dedicated three full minutes to discussing Jagrs youthfulness.
  • Two minutes, two incredible Price saves.
  • Plekanecs rough luck continues. /

Third Period

  • Paul Byron proves himself to be just as dangerous as anticipated.
  • 3rd period, tied game, Panthers on the penalty kill, and they have a breakaway, but we have a Carey Price.
  • It’s refreshing to see a team ice the puck more than us.
  • Habs remain unbeaten at home in regular time./

Overtime

  • Bad time for a broken stick.
  • Great time to have Carey Price.
  • Terrible time for a broken stick!
  • …Habs remain unbeaten in regulation at home, but they lose the final battle 4-3. /
