The Canadiens make the last stop on their western road trip ahead of the Christmas break, looking for one more win before heading home for a few days. They’ll be hosted by a Vegas Golden Knights team that is regaining its stride after a rough start, thanks in large part to the play of Marc-Andre Fleury in goal, who leads the league in both wins and shutouts.

It won’t be the final game for Vegas, as they still have one more to play tomorrow night, so they can’t afford to go all-in like the Canadiens can, but they also won’t be in danger of looking ahead to the time off rather than the task at hand. So today’s result could be dictated by the mental focus of the players as much as their talent.

Claude Julien has made two changes to the lineup that got the win on Thursday. Charles Hudon returns to the pressbox as Nicolas Deslauriers will take to the ice once more. On defence, one-time Golden Knights property David Schlemko will make way for Brett Kulak.
