After a pre-season debut that can be classified as successful, a 5-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers, the Montreal Canadiens play the second of back-to-back games, this time against the New Jersey Devils.

As expected, many of the players to sit out on Monday will be in action on Tuesday. The only player to play in back-to-back games will be Logan Mailloux, playing Tuesday with Jayden Struble.

The line of Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, and Juraj Slafkovský will make their season debut as will the trio of Brendan Gallagher, Jake Evans, and Joel Armia. Sean Farrell, Owen Beck and Filip Mešár will be the third line with Michael Pezzetta, Florian Xhekaj, and Xavier Simoneau rounding out the forwards.

David Reinbacher will get his first NHL pre-season game of the season alongside Michael Matheson. William Trudeau and Zachary Hayes are the third pairing.

Samuel Montembeault will get the start, and we may see Connor Hughes in his first pre-season action should they split the game like they did on Monday.
