Canadiens vs. Devils: Game thread, roster, lines, and how to watch

Habs will face off against a Devils team led by Taylor Hall and Nico Hischier.

Alex Galchenyuk will be back on the ice for the Montreal Canadiens tonight as the team takes on the New Jersey Devils at the Bell Centre.

Torrey Mitchell will continue trying to re-establish his foothold on the Habs’ fourth line by centring a line flanked by Daniel Carr and Antoine Waked. Andrew Shaw is currently out with a neck injury that hopefully is not related to previous concussion issues.

After looking good in his first game, Daniel Audette will be have an NHL linemate to work with tonight, getting Paul Byron on his left wing to complement his playmaking skills.

Notable names for the Devils include Taylor Hall, off-season free agent acquisition Will Butcher, and 2017 first-overall selection Nico Hischier. They wll provide a good test for the handful of Habs defencemen who are still trying to secure a roster spot for the season.

This will be the third pre-season game for the Canadiens, who lost the first two to the Boston Bruins and Washington Capitals, respectively. The team will trying to get a win tonight before heading out on the road for the next two games.
