Canadiens vs Devils: game thread, roster, lines, start time, and how to watch

The Canadiens are facing adversity once again.

The Habs have been struggling to prevent goals as of late, conceding 4 or more goals in the last six games. Much of the story has been about how Carey Price has not looked like himself, posting a .859 sv% and a 4.02 GAA in his last four starts.

Al Montoya will actually guard Montreal’s net tonight and he hasn’t fared much better himself, posting a .852 sv% in his start against the Jets. It’s clear the Habs need to shore up their defensive systems and give their goalies a better chance to win games. The easy fix is to blame the goaltenders, but the Canadiens are allowing a lot more high danger scoring chances lately, and it shows.

Maybe a game against a low-scoring Devils team is exactly what they need.

It won’t be easy as the Devils have won their last three games, including a notable win against the Minnesota Wild. Corey Schneider is proving once again why he’s one of the best goaltenders in the league, posting a .932 sv% with a 1.98 GAA in his last four starts. Meanwhile, offensively the Devils have struggled a bit this season are at the 28th position in average goals scored per game. However this isn’t to say that they aren’t dangerous, with Kyle Palmeri putting up five points and Taylor Hall putting up four in their last five games.
