With the offence treading water in recent games, and the lack of production from Max Domi and Jonathan Drouin extending back even farther, Claude Julien decided to make a few tweaks to his forward combinations for tonight’s game.

Drouin technically moves up a line, though the result is getting two of the top possession players in the league to insulate him, allowing for more chances to get into the offensive zone where his skills can be put to use. It’s a similar story for Domi, as he slots in between Artturi Lehkonen and Joel Armia.

It means Jesperi Kotkaniemi’s line gets affected as well, but he now had both Tomas Tatar and Paul Byron to work with, so the rookie should still be able to put on his show in the offensive zone.

Karl Alzner is also back in the pressbox after his one game of action, allowing for the return of Mikey Reilly.

The Habs will be hoping to find enough offence to outscore the Avalanche tonight, relying on a bit of shakeup to add some energy in the attacking end.
