When Tim Bozon wasn’t invited to join the Canadiens at rookie camp this year, it seemed obvious that his days with the Canadiens organization could be numbered. Sure enough, the team confirmed today that he has been dealt to the Panthers in exchange for Jonathan Racine.
I truly thanks the @CanadiensMTL organization and the @IceCapsAHL for the last 4 season in the system! Thanks a lot to the fans as well!

Bozon, who battled a deadly case of meningitis in 2014, is truly an inspiring story, and we wish him the best moving forward.

Racine, 23, was a Panthers’ third-round pick, 87th overall back in 2011. He has just one game of NHL experience since being drafted, so this reads as nothing more than a depth move for the St. John’s IceCaps. His physical style of player will fit in perfectly in the AHL. He was involved in 18 fights over the last three seasons.
Racine is from Montreal, so perhaps the change of scenery to a very familiar place will give him the motivation to push for an NHL spot one day.
