The Canadiens have earned wins over the Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks so far on this road trip, but now they take on the best team in California to wrap it up. The Los Angeles Kings have just three regulation losses this season, tying with the Vegas Golden Knights for the best points percentage in the Western Conference. They are one of the top defensive teams, and one of the most dangerous offensively as well, capable of winning whatever type of game an opponent can muster.

The good news for the Canadiens is that all three of their regulation losses, and three more defeats in extra time, have come on home ice; only the Chicago Blackhawks have fewer wins in their own arena this season. But the Canadiens can’t count on those home woes extending any more than they could rely on the Sharks playing to their season record in yesterday’s game, a contest they were lucky to escape with two points.

The lineup will be the same for this afternoon’s game as it was for yesterday’s, with the one change being in goal as Jake Allen completes the three-goalie cycle on this tour of California. His personal losing streak now sits at four games, and he’ll need to be the best player in today’s game to get himself back in the win column.
