Game 57: Montreal Canadiens @ Ottawa Senators
Start time: 7:00 PM EST / 4:00 PM PST
In Canada: CityTV, Sportsnet East (English), TVA Sports (French)
Streaming: ESPN+, Sportsnet+
The NHL may have just completed a best-on-best tournament, that won’t be the status of the lineups for the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators when they return to NHL action tonight. Montreal remains without top defenceman Kaiden Guhle, while the Senators are allowing Brady Tkachuk to recover from a minor injury sustained at the 4 Nations, and are also missing Josh Norris and Shane Pinto up front.
The Senators do have Jake Sanderson returning from his runner-up performance, and that should give him a boost against NHL teams that are far from the quality of Team Canada. The same should also be true for Nikolas Matinpalo who represented Team Finland.
We saw one great game from Patrik Laine at the event, and the team would benefit from that play continuing with his Habs jersey on. He had a rough final few games before the tournament started, and the team wants to see him have some consistent performances down the stretch as preparations begin for next season.
