Canadiens promote Eric Crawford to director of pro scouting

The Canadiens made a shake up in their scouting department today, promoting Eric Crawford to director of pro scouting.

Crawford is the younger brother to former NHL head coach and Ottawa Senators assistant coach Marc. He joined the Habs scouting team last year, after more than a decade in the Vancouver Canucks organization. His final role with the Canucks was director of player personnel.

The move comes almost exactly a year to the date he was brought into the organization. His hiring was announced August 24, 2015.

Crawford replaces Vaughn Karpan who was hired by the Las Vegas expansion team as director of player personnel.
