The Canadiens play their first match of a five-game road trip, and also their last one versus a Western Conference opponent this season, in Nashville versus the Predators, seeking to run their winning streak to four. After Jakub Dobeš claimed the last two victories, it will be Jacob Fowler in net for this game with Dobeš due to face the Carolina Hurricanes for the second time in six days tomorrow.
Fowler’s main task is to ensure he keeps good positioning when Steven Stamkos gets the puck tonight. The two-time Rocket Richard Trophy-winner has scored five goals in the past four games and will be the biggest threat to end the Habs’ winning run.
Cole Caufield is looking for his first goal-scoring title, but was held off the scoresheet on Thursday, snapping a six-game point that saw him contribute 12 points. He is looking for a 50-goal campaign, and should he reach it he will also claim the first 82-point season of his career.
