Playing the Florida Panthers in 2022-23 hasn’t been a lot of fun for the Montreal Canadiens, especially for their goaltenders. Last game, both Samuel Montembeault and Jake Allen got the hook. With a second shot at the job, Montembeault fared very well in his second stint of the game, and he’s the one who gets the call for the season series finale.
Sean Farrell plays the Panthers for the first time, and perhaps he will provide the spark needed to snap the three-game losing streak. He’s joining what has become an effective duo of Brendan Gallagher and Jake Evans on a third line that has a lot of the ingredients you want from a bottom-six trio. The three will try to force the Panthers to think about defence rather than just piling on the offence as they have so far this year.
