Game 15: Montreal Canadiens @ Toronto Maple Leafs

Though they keep making progress in their five-on-five game, the Canadiens are still making too many costly errors to win games. Their streak has now hit five consecutive losses as they slip out of the playoff picture they had hoped to stay in this season.
The Canadiens can’t afford those errors if they want tonight to be the night that the losing ends. The Maple Leafs, even without Auston Matthews, are a dangerous offensive team, and that has only been more true over the past couple of games as they get their power play going after an ice-cold start to the season.
The lineup remains the same from the previous game for Montreal, an indication that Martin St-Louis is generally happy with the team’s play, and that faith may help a group that has little else to boost its morale right now. Discipline in both their physical game and their defensive play will be the key to pulling off an upset in their rival’s building.
