The Montreal Canadiens have revealed their lineup for tonight’s home game versus the Toronto Maple Leafs.

We saw the projected second line in action in game one of the pre-season before the top trio got into game 2. With a largely prospect group sent to Toronto on Thursday, this is the first time that the Canadiens’ new-look top six will be competing in the same game.

Owen Beck takes the position between Joshua Roy and Josh Anderson that Christian Dvorak held last. The fourth line is a potential combination that Pascal Vincent will have in Laval this season.

Lane Hutson is beginning to cement his place next to David Savard on the second pairing, and more auditions are at hand for David Reinbacher, who is taking Kaiden Guhle’s place next to Mike Matheson once more, and Logan Mailloux who will play alongside Arber Xhekaj on the third duo.

As for the Leafs, their lineup looks more akin to the one that Montreal took on the road two days ago. There are some players who can contribute offensively like William Nylander (good to go after leaving Thursday’s game) and Easton Cowan, but the Canadiens will be favoured to win this one, with a chance to work on their offensive chemistry.
