Canadiens lines seem set before season opener vs Buffalo

As the Montreal Canadiens get set to face the Buffalo Sabres without their star goaltender, it seems they have settled on an Opening Day lineup.

It appears that Sven Andrighetto and Brian Flynn will sit out the opener and the lines will be what we have seen for the majority of the pre-season once injuries and the World Cup of Hockey ended and the Habs were able to ice a full lineup.

Unsurprisingly, Artturi Lehkonen appears ready to make his NHL debut tomorrow night wearing his new number 62 playing alongside Tomas Plekanec and Alexander Radulov.

On defence, Nathan Beaulieu appears to be the choice to play alongside Shea Weber in the newcomer’s Habs debut.

Greg Pateryn slots into Jeff Petry’s spot on the second pairing while Mikhail Sergachev appears set to make his NHL debut just several months after being drafted and turning 18. Sergachev, if he plays, will be the fourth youngest Hab of all-time and the youngest defenceman to appear in a regular season game.

Zach Redmond appears to be the odd man out.
