Less than a month into the 2025-26 schedule, the Canadiens will wrap up their first season series when they visit the Seattle Kraken. Montreal earned a 5-4 overtime win when the teams met at the Bell Centre on October 14, and two weeks later they will be going for the sweep of the NHL’s newest franchise.
Jakub Dobeš will get the start in the game, his third of this trip and sixth of the opening 11 games. Coming into the season, the club just wanted solid performances from the Czech netminders, but he’s provided much more than that. His undefeated start is allowing the Canadiens to not just keep themselves in the race to the post-season, but ranking as one of the league’s top teams with one-eighth of the season played.
It is of course interesting to see how Dobeš continues to play, but the main focus for Habs fans is going to be on Ivan Demidov after what he did on Saturday in Vancouver. He had his first three-point game in the NHL, but perhaps more impressively helped the power play look as dangerous as it has since Patrik Laine flew out of the game last December. It’s just the beginning of Demidov’s journey, and he’s just now getting comfortable with playing with the Canadiens’ other top players.
