Bottom Six Minutes Episode XI: Canadiens complete the sweep over the Jets

Three impressive wins culminating in a commanding series lead means nothing if you can’t finish. That is something the Montreal Canadiens should have learned from their own exploits in the first round.

And they clearly did, as despite blowing a two-goal lead in the second period, they took out the Winnipeg Jets in a thrilling overtime win to complete the series sweep.

Welcome to your Bottom Six Minutes for game four!

Connor Hellebuyck deserved a better result in this game. The Canadiens dominated, but he kept the Jets around for as long as he possibly could. I’ll discuss the dreaded feeling of being robbed by a goaltender in contrast with the thrill of the OT winner.

Dominique Ducharme coached a masterful series. I’ll have some kind words for him since it’s only fair to give praise to someone I was harsh on in the past.

This team has something special. They are now deeper in the playoffs than anyone predicted they’d go, and it would be foolish to doubt them. Tyler Toffoli said after the game that they feel like they only have themselves, their fans, their friends and family.

Well, Tyler, I hope that’s all you’ll ever need.
