The Montreal Canadiens are set to play the most important game of the season since Wednesday’s match versus the Ottawa Senators. The Boston Bruins are in Montreal looking to steal away the third spot in the Atlantic Division. It will be a challenge for them given that they’ve only won 12 of the 32 games they’ve played on the road to this point, but the Canadiens have been feeling generous to their opponents so far on this three-game homestand.
Unhappy with the defence last game, Martin St-Louis has shuffled the pairings, reuniting the duo of Jayden Struble and Lane Hutson and placing Kaiden Guhle next to Alexandre Carrier. The defence as a whole will need to look a lot sharper tonight than it did on Sunday versus the Anaheim Ducks.
Jakub Dobeš has been called on the get the important result from this four-point-swing match. That is a surprise since Jacob Fowler not only looks like the more steady of the goaltenders right now, but also has the one win the Habs have claimed over Boston this season. Dobeš has made a habit of winning this year, so that trend will need to continue in this critical outing.
