After a dominant first period, the Canadiens capitalized quickly as P.K. Subban scored his first of these playoffs, and Alex Galchenyuk scored the first of many playoff goals in his career. Jarred Tinordi also grabbed the first playoff point of his career on Galchenyuk's goal.
But the Senators aren't done. They had several extremely strong shifts in the second half of the period, but Carey Price keeps shutting the door, and the defense keeps controlling the rebounds.
Jeff Halpern continues to amaze me. The elder statesman of the Habs' forward corps has been fantastic since his pick up off of waivers, and personally I'd like to see him signed again for next year.
Lots of people complaining about Subban's penalty to end the period. That same play has happened 30+ times tonight mostly in Ottawa's end. It's a penalty now, why? You can't call something stupid if the officials set the precedent that it's allowed then decide it isn't at the drop of a hat, it's just bad officiating.
