Michael Ryder has been getting scoring chances on basically every shift lately but hasn’t been able to put it home, until he was given 9 years alone in front of the Bruins net and beat Tuukka Rask to make it 1-0 Canadiens.

A cluster of penalties in the middle of the period included a fight between Travis Moen and Gregory Campbell, neither of home managed to land much.

There may have been a missed opportunity by the Habs though, with a full 2 minute powerplay without having to deal with Zdeno Chara, the Canadiens couldn’t muster anything worthwhile, and the tide shifted promptly after the Bruins killed it off.

Carey Price bailed the Habs out with several show stopping saves though, and the game remains 1-0 heading into the second. Shot attempts ended up 16-15 in favour of Boston. Watching these teams play is great.
