Canadiens announce second round of cuts from 2016-17 training camp

The Montreal Canadiens released nine more players from training camp today after last night’s loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Here is the list of those who will no longer be participating and will be sent to the St. John’s IceCaps in the American Hockey League:

Daniel Audette, Jacob de la Rose, Jeremy Grégoire, Charles Hudon, Charlie Lindgren, Stefan Matteau, Nikita Scherbak and Chris Terry.

Matteau and Terry will need to clear waivers and will be placed there at noon.

Jeremiah Addison was also cut from camp and sent to his junior team, the Windsor Spitfires.

There are no real surprises in this group, as none of these players were expected to break camp with the NHL team.

The leaves 27 players at camp (15 forwards, nine defencemen and three goaltenders). The Canadiens will see their next action tomorrow night in Quebec City as they face the Boston Bruins at the Centre Videotron.
