The 2015 edition of the Canadiens Top 25 Under 25 has come to an end. There are no more prospects to profile, and our biggest summer series is almost finished, however there’s still some information to look over, as we explore the voting process. This year we had 18 ballots, a record for the T25U25 series.

Below, you’ll find a breakdown of how panelists cast their votes. For a few panelists you’ll see multiple tied votes towards the 30 range. The reason for that is that some panelists did not rank every prospect, therefore every player they did not rank earned an automatic vote, tied with the last player they ranked.

The 1-5 spots were relatively uncontested, although Jacob de la Rose came surprisingly close to edging out Charles Hudon.
Despite being an established NHL player, Zack Kassian barely held off Sven Andrighetto, with Jarred Tinordi hot on their heels.

For the first time we had an tie in the rankings, with Noah Juulsen and Tim Bozon tied for 17th. Once we removed the high and low votes, Juulsen took sole possession of the higher spot. Mac Bennett secured the last spot in the Top 25 by narrowly beating out Brett Lernout.

The prospects based on their average ranking and standard deviation (s/t to AZadarski):
As you can see, Devante Smith-Pelly split the votes to the point that he saw the largest deviation within the rankings. Gabriel Dumont, Zachary Fucale, Dalton Thrower, Daniel Audette, and Noah Juulsen also created a rather big rift in the votes.
This weekend we’ll explore the variations between the official EOTP panelist rankings, and the community vote that took place a couple weeks ago.
We’ll also take a look at the rank variations since last year’s Top 25 Under 25 series, and a complete updated history of the project.
