A busy third round continued for the Montreal Canadiens as they made their second of three third-round selections in the 2025 NHL Draft. After going for forwards with their first two picks, the Canadiens shifted to defence and selected over-age defender Bryce Pickford at 81st overall.
Pickford had an incredible draft-plus-one season, scoring 20 goals in the regular season and added 13 more in the post-season for the Medicine Hat Tigers.

It’s an impressive improvement and he becomes the first re-entry to be selected in the 2025 Draft, and shows that the Canadiens continue to seek out under-the-radar options.
Montreal is back on the board immediately at 82nd overall.
