Blackhawks vs Wild and Kings vs Blues – Game Thread

Are you ready? The best time of the year is upon us.

The first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs is a non-stop assault of amazing hockey.

Today we have the two most recent Stanley Cup winners that this blog recognizes as actually winning the cup facing off in attempts to recapture glory.

The Chicago Blackhawks are heavy favourites in their series against the Minnesota Wild, and you can bet that it’ll be loud in the United Center. The season series was surprisingly low scoring and even, as the Hawks won 2 of 3 and outscored the Wild 8-6.

For the reigning Cup champion Los Angeles Kings, they once again failed to grab home ice advantage and will begin the playoffs in St. Louis against the Blues. Instead of Jaroslav Halak, they’ll be shooting on Brian Elliott, as Halak is still injured somehow.

Should be a couple great games!
