2025 NHL Draft: The Montreal Canadiens select Arseni Radkov at 82nd overall

With the second of back-to-back picks in the third round, the Montreal Canadiens selected at 82nd overall, using the pick they had acquired in the trade of Jake Allen to the New Jersey Devils.

Fittingly, they used that pick on a goaltender, selecting Arseni Radkov, a Belarusian who is committed to the University of Massachusetts to start the 2026-27 season. The Habs will have one more year to watch him develop in the Russian Junior league before he’s ready to head to North America.

Elite Prospects

Radkov had a decent season with Tyumenski Legion, posting a .918 save percentage after a .921 mark in the under-18 league the previous year. As goalies always are, this will be a long-term project for the Canadiens.

With three picks completed in the third round, the Canadiens are next up at 113 in the fourth round.
