He may not have been selected as an all-star, but there's no doubt that P.K. Subban put together a great season

Before the season got underway many were already saying that P.K. Subban was overpaid, and that the only way he could justify his massive contract was if he put up career numbers. That's ignoring his obvious defensive prowess, but so be it.

Lo and behold, that's exactly what he did. Not only did he put up career highs in points and assists, but he scored 15 goals, one more than he produced during his rookie season. Interestingly, he actually shot less than his career average; roughly two shots per game, instead of 2.6.

At times he relied less on his heavy slap shot , concentrating instead on a quick release to get the puck to the net, which seemed to create a little more offense.

Subban finished 6th in defenceman goals, 2nd in points, and led all defenders in defensive point shares with 6.61. It's really no surprise that he was named as a finalist for the Norris Trophy, seeing as how he enjoyed one of the best seasons among defencemen in the league.
