In their third season, the Laval Rocket are having their best season both on and off the ice, and they are taking the next step in building their success with the announcement Friday that they are hosting the 2021 AHL All-Star Classic.

It is the first time the Classic will be hosted in the Montreal area, and the first time that the Canadiens affiliate will be hosting.

“The Laval Rocket have quickly emerged as one of the premier organizations in the American Hockey League,” said AHL president and chief executive officer David A. Andrews. “It is with great excitement that we bring our annual showcase event to Place Bell and the city of Laval in 2021.”

Place Bell has a capacity of 10,000 and this will be the biggest hockey event it will be hosting since it opened. This year’s game was held in Ontario, California.

The AHL All-Star Classic will be held Monday February 1 alongside the AHL Hall of Fame ceremony. The skills competition will be held January 31. Like the NHL, the format is a 3-on-3 tournament with teams built from each division.

This year, the Rocket were represented by Charles Hudon who won the Accuracy Shooting competition.
