Laval Rocket weekend preview: Jakub Jerabek scratched for season opener

The lineup for tonight’s game, plus how to watch.

Club de hockey Canadien, Inc.

How To Watch/Listen

The game will be shown on RDS2 and on AHL Live, starting at 7:30 PM EDT. You can also listen to the game on the radio 91.9FM in French, and on TSN690 in English. If you prefer a Senators slant to the broadcast, the game will also be on CJBQ 800.

The Laval Rocket are getting their season - and history - underway with two home games this weekend against the Belleville Senators, Friday and Saturday, at the Place Bell.

They will do so with the following roster to start the season:

Goaltenders (2)

  • Charlie Lindgren
  • Zachary Fucale

Defencemen (7)

  • Simon Bourque
  • Eric Gélinas, Veteran Status
  • Jakub Jerabek, Veteran Status
  • Stefan Leblanc
  • Brett Lernout
  • Tom Parisi
  • Matt Taormina, Veteran Status

Forwards (16)

  • Daniel Audette
  • David Broll
  • Daniel Carr
  • Nicolas Deslauriers, Veteran Status
  • Markus Eisenschmid
  • Byron Froese, Veteran Exempt Status
  • Jeremy Grégoire
  • Peter Holland, Veteran Status
  • Kyle Baun
  • Michael McCarron
  • Niki Petti
  • Martin Reway
  • Nikita Scherbak
  • Chris Terry, Veteran Status
  • Yannick Veilleux
  • Antoine Waked

If you’re wondering why Noah Juulsen isn’t listen on the roster it’s because he was injured during the NHL training camp, and cannot be assigned to the AHL until he is cleared to return. Same situation for Jeremiah Addison.

Daniel Carr will miss the games this week-end due to taking a personal leave of absence. Due to the AHL Veteran Rule (no more than five players with more than 320 games, no more than six with more than 260) Jakub Jerabek will be a healthy scratch.

Here are the expected lines for today’s game, based on lines at practice:

Terry - McCarron - Scherbak

Holland - Froese - Reway

Deslauriers - Audette - Waked

Grégoire - Eisenschmid - Baun

Taormina - Lernout

Gélinas - Leblanc

Parisi - Bourque

Scratches: Petti, Veilleux, Broll, Carr (personal), Jerabek (veteran rule)
