Another overtime, and it was another win for the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs in Game 2, improving their record to 6-0 in games that go beyond 60 minutes. This wasn’t a case of them controlling the game and just needing the extra time to find the winning goal however. They were trailing by two goals entering the third period and needed a rare comeback effort to get the job done, scoring three goals before the Vegas Golden Knights answered late to send the game to sudden death.

Carolina has taken a road record that is also 6-0 to Las Vegas looking to claim its first lead of the championship series. The Golden Knights are 6-2 at T-Mobile Arena, so the Hurricanes will face more resistance than they did versus the three teams they played so far, all of which sported losing records on home ice when their seasons ended.

The one lineup question is the status of Brayden McNabb after his nose was broken on a shot block last game, forcing the Golden Knights to play much of the contest with just five blue-liners. John Tortorella may have to make some changes to his defence duos for the the match.
