After 20 minutes of play in Game 4, it seemed like today’s Game 5 might become the last one of the NHL season. The Florida Panthers not only got out to a 3-0 lead, but had earned that score with a dominant opening period.

Seeing his team headed for a runner-up showing in the Stanley Cup Final once again, Corey Perry swatted away the hands of fate in the intermission and inspired his Edmonton Oilers teammates to an incredible comeback, helping to even up the series and flipping the script from potential exit to now home-ice advantage in what will be a best-of-three tournament.

After coming on in relief in Game 4, Calvin Pickard will get the start, looking to run his 2025 post-season record to 8-0. In a series that has featured 32 goals in four games played to this point, a critical save at a key moment from Pickard may be what moves Edmonton one win from hoisting the trophy.
