Western Conference Final Game 4: Dallas Stars @ Edmonton Oilers

EDM leads 2-1

Edmonton ran with the momentum it had carried through two games in Dallas (even if one of them was a loss after blowing a lead), to take a 2-1 series edge in commanding fashion. The Rogers Place host was again the better team in Game 3, and has been in eight of the nine periods played so far.

Connor McDavid had two goals in Game 3, but the less-celebrated first-overall selection on Edmonton’s roster, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, added three assists to what has been a very strong series for him. As the Stars lament a lack of depth scoring, the Oilers are currently seeing the benefits of their high draft slots, and some quality trades and signings, as we continue on a collision course to a rematch of last year’s Stanley Cup Final.

Game 5: London Knights vs. Medicine Hat Tigers

How to watch

Start time: 7:00 PM EDT / 4:00 PM PDT
In Canada: TSN (English), RDS (French)
Streaming: CHL TV, TSN+, RDS

Through four games played, two teams have emerged as the front-runners. The London Knights and Medicine Hat Tigers have each claimed a win versus the two QMJHL representatives in the tournament and already secured the top two spots in the standings.

The top seed is a coveted position. That earns a club a bye into the final, earning what will be four days of rest for the ultimate hockey game of the Junior season. The winner of tonight’s game gets that prize, while the loser will have a couple of days to prepare for the semifinal showdown on Friday. Will it be the OHL champion London Knights who hold the top seed after tonight’s game, or will it be the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL?
