In the seventh period of play in Game 2, Catherine Dubois scored the goal that gave the Montreal Victoire their first ever post-season win in their fifth try. With that out of the way, hopefully the players can relax a little bit in what has now become of a best-of-three series.

Ottawa’s TD Place will be the scene of Game 3 for the first ever home game in the Charge’s history. The crowd will be excited to see the team in a playoff environment, so it will be up to the Victoire to silence the home fans early.

As if Connor Hellebuyck needed more of a spotlight on him, his game is the only one on the NHL docket this evening. It’s another game played in enemy territory, and he’s lost his last eight post-season contests outside the city of Winnipeg.

Hellebuyck had the unfortunate honour of scoring the game-winning goal in Game 3 into his own net, and allowed an insurance marker just seconds later to compound the error. The goaltender, and the team around him, needs to find a way to rally or it’s likely going to be a seventh consecutive season of a team with Stanley Cup aspirations failing to make it beyond the second round.
