Eastern Conference Final Game 3: Carolina Hurricanes vs. Florida Panthers

FLA leads 2-0

How to watch

Start time: 8:00 PM EDT / 5:00 PM PDT
In Canada: CBC, Sportsnet (English) TVA Sports (French)
In the U.S.: TNT, truTV
Streaming: Max, Sportsnet+

The Florida Panthers so far have had the fortune of playing a team that can’t get past the second round to now battling one that falls apart the moment it hits the conference finals. A 5-0 loss by the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 2 was the 14th consecutive defeat the organization has been dealt in the penultimate series of the post-season. The fans are well aware of the pattern, and seeing nothing different this year, they majority left the arena early, leaving just a thousand or two in the seats for the end of the game.

With an aggregate score of 10-2 to open this round, the Panthers are back home for tonight’s match. You would expect that a team so dominant on the road would look even better at home, but that wasn’t the case for them in Game 6 versus the Toronto Maple Leafs, and that’s the only hope the Hurricanes can cling to as they prepare for the daunting task of winning four of the final five games of the series with three of them to be played at Amerant Bank Arena.

Game 2: Medicine Hat Tigers vs. Rimouski Océanic

How to watch

Start time: 6:00 PM EDT / 3:00 PM PDT
In Canada: TSN (English), RDS2 (French)
Streaming: CHL TV, TSN+, RDS

The Western Hockey League champions won a close game to open the tournament, and today the Ontario and Quebec league winners square off in Rimouski. The London Knights lost just a single game in the four rounds of the OHL post-season, and come in as the favourite to hoist the final trophy. Moncton had a relatively easy run to the Q title as well, sitting at 15-1 in the final series before the Océanic got two wins to make the final more interesting.

This second game of the tournament could be a preview of next Sunday’s final, but plenty can happen over the next eight days of play in the CHL championship.
