The two teams that have yet to earn a victory meet up on Sunday at the Memorial Cup. The host Kamloops Blazers stayed in their game well versus the Quebec Remparts on Friday, but a shot off the post prevented them from getting the score down to 5-4, and in the end they were dealt an 8-3 loss.
Peterborough also had a strong start versus a superior Seattle Thunderbirds team yesterday, but again the better team pulled away in the third period.
Kamloops and Peterborough are now facing the prospect of starting with an 0-2 record, which will spell disaster for that club. One squad will move into a tie atop the leaderboard with two points, while the other would need significant help to play beyond its third and final round-robin game.
