Montreal Canadiens vs. Washington Capitals

How to watch

Start time: 7:00 PM EDT / 4:00 PM PDT
In the Canadiens region: TSN2 (English), RDS (French)
In the Capitals region: NBC Sports Washington
Streaming: ESPN+, RDS Direct, TSN+

The Canadiens play the first of the two home games remaining on the 2022-23 season schedule tonight, and the Bell Centre crowd hasn’t had much to celebrate in the last few contests. Hopefully the return of Rafaël Harvey-Pinard, who missed those two games versus Carolina and Detroit, will spark the offence back to life.

RHP will be right back on Nick Suzuki’s line, with the team’s play in his absence doing just as much to make his case for a top-six spot as anything he’s achieved on the ice. Suzuki was left to put on a one-man show on Tuesday, and the return of his energetic winger should result in a more dangerous attack versus Washington.

It’s hard to say what the Capitals’ response will be to playing their first game after being officially eliminated from playoff contention. They weren’t playing all that well beforehand, surrendering at least four goals eight times in the past 10 games, so there should be a chance for Suzuki, Harvey-Pinard, and maybe even a few other players besides to get on the scoreboard.
