Nearly everyone expected the season to be over by now. The Lightning were proving too tough for the Canadiens in the first three games, with wins by multiple goals each time. But finally, the Canadiens managed to limit Tampa Bay’s offence despite their most undisciplined game of the series, and the Stanley Cup was put back in its case following an overtime win for Montreal.

The Habs have one win under their belt, and need three more to be the ones to hoist the trophy on July 11. Unlike the mayor of Tampa, they would have to qualms about doing so away from their fans if they managed to realize that.

To keep the run going the lineup has been left intact, and barring a particularly bad performance in a win we may see the same 18 skaters the rest of the way, whether that run ends tonight or in several days’ time. It’s hard to argue the current group doesn’t deserve a chance to replicate the result from Game 4, but they all need to play even better than they did on Monday night.

Expect another quality outing from Carey Price in net, the usual calm, clutch play from Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield, and hopefully several other key contributions from the remainder of the lineup to bring the series back to Montreal for Game 6.
