Dominique Ducharme made some changes to his team’s approach in Game 2 and was able to fly back to Montreal with the series tied at one game apiece, Unfortunately, it seems he also contracted the coronavirus, and is now away from the team indefinitely.

In his place will step Luke Richardson, who gets an unexpected promotion to the top job at the most critical time of the season. Normally in charge of the defence, the interim interim head coach will also be responsible for the deployment of the forwards and any discussions with the officials. One of the Canadiens’ biggest strengths this season has been their depth at each position, and now we’ll see if that applies to the coaching.

The plan is there for them to use from last game, and it involved a hefty dose of Phillip Danault, with he and his linemates taking on the toughest matchups of the night to neutralize the Vegas stars, leaving the two teams’ bottom nines to duke it out for the win.
