The Montreal Canadiens are facing off against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the playoffs for the first time since 1979. Over 40 years in the making, this rivalry’s return to playoff action warrants something new from us here at Eyes on the Prize.

Welcome to the first ever episode of the Bottom Six Minutes podcast.

Like our long-running Top Six Minutes, this is a podcast intended to provide reaction to Habs games, with some attempts at humour. We’ll talk a bit about what went well, what could have gone better, and what was downright awful.

In perhaps the most fitting manner for our first episode, bottom-six hero Paul Byron scored the game winning goal. Carey Price looked fantastic, Josh Anderson was electrifying, and the Habs’ power play was anything but fantastic.

Oh, and the officiating was just weird.

I hope you enjoy this new project, as I hope we all enjoy the Habs taking their run at a series win that most pundits said was impossible.
