There has been a positive COVID-19 test on the Calgary Flames’ roster. While that is always a concern for a team and especially the player involved, at this point the league is confident the interaction among the players has been limited, and the game is still on for this evening. As we’ve seen with these situations so far this year, new information can come to light that changes things, so the plan could get altered at any time.

The two teams can do nothing but focus on their task at hand. The Flames, who recently got dealt another loss by the Ottawa Senators, are running out of lives as they try to reach the flag in a playoff spot. The only team they have a shot at passing is Montreal, and the only way to pass the Habs is to at least win this three-game series and still hope for several results to go their way.

Tonight they’ll face Jake Allen once more as Carey Price is out for the week with a concussion. Dominique Ducharme said it’s possible that Cayden Primeau will get a chance to play his first game of the year in this series, which you can likely translate to he’ll get the start tomorrow if Montreal wins tonight, and he won’t if they don’t and need the win. The Habs will hope to get their temporary starter a rest by smothering the Flames with the same type of game they used so effectively versus the Oilers leading up to this set of matches.
