Montreal Canadiens vs. Vancouver Canucks

How to watch

In the Canadiens region: TSN 2 (English), RDS (French)
In the Canucks region: Sportsnet Pacific

For the first time all season, fans of the Canadiens didn’t get to celebrate any goals from their team. They had been spoiled by the team’s start, one still has them leading the league in goals per game, so you can’t be too upset with the one shutout performance. Nor should the players be overly concerned about their offensive game, especially considering the 21 scoring chances they had in the 2-0 loss to Calgary on Saturday.

The Canadiens and Canucks have decided to use different goalie strategies for the series. Montreal will go with Carey Price tonight and let Jake Allen come in for his fourth of the season tomorrow night in the second half of the back-to-back. Vancouver will start its number two this evening, and hope Thatcher Demko, named the NHL’s first star of the week, can be the difference when a fatigued Canucks squad takes to the ice tomorrow night for its 13th game.

Montreal’s game plan will be to attack the Canucks’ bottom-six forward group and work their offensive game against Tyler Myers, whom they victimized for four goals in the last game. The defenceman is up against a club intent on getting its groove back, and he could be in for a rough night.
