There has been one good story on the ice for the Canadiens of late, and that has been the play of Nick Suzuki. He had a rough start to the year after being promoted to the head of the forward corps, but is contributing now like he has at the peaks of his first two NHL seasons.

He can’t do it all himself, however, so the team needs to find ways to score goals when he’s not on the ice, something it hasn’t done on this homestand. That’s going to be difficult again tonight, because Jonathan Drouin remains out of the lineup, and both Christian Dvorak and Josh Anderson are game-time decisions.

In addition to the forwards stepping up to assist, the Habs could use more offence from the blue line. Jeff Petry has been playing big minutes while dealing with an injury of his own, but did start to add some points in recent games. The team would also like to see Chris Wideman setting up quality chances for the power play. He, too, is sitting on just two points this year, and could be a catalyst to getting the offence rolling for the decimated squad.
