How to watch

Start time: 7:00 PM EST / 4:00 PM PST
In Canada: CBC, Sportsnet, CityTV (English), TVA Sports (French)
Streaming: NHL.tv/NHL Live, Sportsnet Now

A night after splitting 10 goals evenly among themselves, the Canadiens got a bigger piece of the offensive pie on Thursday night, coming away with a 7-3 win, but leaving a man on the battlefield in the process. Now that Joel Armia is out for an unknown period of time, the depth additions that were added just before the season began are getting called upon for the first time, and that means we’ll see Corey Perry’s debut with the team tonight.

He will have a significant challenge replicating what Armia did in the last game, a two-goal, four-point performance that helped the Canadiens pull away from the opponent. But he does bring an element the Canucks haven’t seen so far in the series: a determined, net-front game that relies less on skill and more on just aggravating the defence.

It could prove to be an especially strong strategy against a defence that has been taxed by injuries and Montreal’s relentless four-line attack two times already. Perry jumps into the action on what has been the league’s hottest line this week, and may just get involved in the offence himself.
