It appears both teams are going to run with the same forward alignments as last night; two groups that combined to score 10 goals in 60 minutes of action. There are also some question marks on the Vanocuver blue line, with the status of Alexander Edler and Travis Hamonic not fully known at this point. It is expected that the clubs will be firing pucks at different netminders, as Jake Allen and Thatcher Demko get the call this evening for the second half of a back-to-back.

Demko was a major reason why the Canucks advanced as far as they did in the post-season last year, but has given up nine goals across the two starts he’s seen this year, at least temporarily handing the starter’s job to Braden Holtby. If those early-season struggles are still part of his game, he could be in for a rough night against a team that knows it deserved a better result a night ago.

The most aggrieved of the Habs skaters may be Jesperi Kotkaniemi, who said post-game his unsportsmanlike penalty for challenging a non-call was the reason they lost the game, He did channel some of that feeling into his first goal of the year, but if you were going to bet on the next player to have a multi-goal performance for the Habs, the Finn would have to be at the top of the list.
