The Montreal Canadiens played as close to a perfect game as you can get in Game 2, firing on all cylinders — even the power play — on their way to a complete dismantling of the number-one ranked Philadelphia Flyers.

In what had been pegged as a goalie battle beforehand, with that projection seemingly confirmed in a low-scoring Game 1, Carter Hart was the first to blink. He allowed four goals in just under two periods of work, and saw a sparkling save percentage plummet to sit now at .914 this post-season.

All the offence may have made Carey Price a bit giddy, as he was making a few more ... athletic saves than we’ve seen so far. His Hasekian style proved more rather effective, stopping all 30 shots he faced for his second shutout of the NHL’s return.

Kirk Muller will no doubt hope his same permutations can come up winners tonight, but Alain Vigneault will likely have a few alterations to his Game 3 lineup. We’ll see when the teams come out for pre-game warmups what the Flyers’ coach has concocted after stewing for a few days.
